Houdini

All fun and games last night. At about 8.30pm I took the rubbish out. Pierrot managed somehow to push the door open and then suddenly stood in the driveway. I didnt think anything of it at first and went back in, calling him and saying, that he is a good boy. At that point the neighbours across the green started some sort of argument with eachother and Pierrot ran off up the road then stopped and just stood there. Pete and I tried to call him, but he didnt come back. He then disappeared around the corner and I went after him. He ran straight to the field with the horses, but was waiting there when I got there. He still wouldnt come to me though, and always jumped away, when I tried to approach him. Pete came down too and after about 20 minutes of letting us chase him about, he went up to Pete, who was able to grab his collar. I then put him on the lead, praising him for coming back. When we got back to the house, Pierrot went upstairs and lay down in my room. I think he needed some 'time out'. Now him and Isis are happily sleeping on the landing. I really will have to watch him now, particularly in the garden too. Afraid that he might jump the wall to run off. I had visions of him having an accident with a car ... dreadful!!!! My heart is still skipping a beat thinking about it. But today was fine, he was a very well behaved boy and seems to get a little more confident around us, Isis and even the cats. In hindsight I think last night he just thought that we were going for a walk and when I didnt come, he thought: Fuck you, I am going anyway!" Still, I think I might rename him - Houdini seems to be a fitting name hahaha.
