Is this summer?

It feels as if it has been pissing down with rain for weeks now. Well, since Glastonbury anyway. Which makes it 5 weeks!!! Good thing: I don't have to water the garden. Bad thing: I don't have to water the garden and the grass is growing madly and can't be cut, because it is too wet. On top of that my hot water was only fixed this Monday, so hot bath were not possible. Managed a few times to boil the kettle and fill the bath tub shallowly, but it comes nowhere close to submerge yourself fully in fragrant Lush bubbles. And I hate cold showers. But negativity aside, the boiler is working again, so fingers crossed it holds up until next week, when my landlord comes round and does a complete re-pipe. Not looking forward to it, it will be messy and of course another 3 days without boiler!

Last weekend was the Bristol Harbour Festival ... sadly lacking my attendance. When I realised on Sunday afternoon that Transglobal Underground were playing at 6.15pm, I just couldnt muster up the energy to get ready AND go into town. I would have had to walk as I am positively skint until this weekend. Maybe I shouldn't have spent £30 at http://www.gringo.uk.com/ at their stall at WOMAD. But the stuff there was so cheap, that I just couldn't resist. Now I am kitted out with hippy clothes for a while :)

I am getting bored at home now, so it's a good job really that my training for Bristol Drugs Project starts on the 27th. I am hungry to learn. Mind you, I am arrogant enough to think that they might not be able to teach me anything new. No no no, must keep an open mind!!! And it will definitely be nice to meet some new people and kickstart some sort of life again.

Oh yes, got my birthday to get out of the way too, plus the Heppers Picnic at the Park on 23rd August. Then I am going to have a BBQ on the 29th ... my traditional birthday BBQ unless it's raining, then it will be a birthday buffet. Don't suppose many people will come as the best friends are not living anywhere close. I do find that this is the problem with having lived here, there and everywhere ... makes your friends miles away from you. Still ... no regrets, ey? At least I know you're all out there xxxxx

  2. I wish I could come to your Birthday party. Also will be great when you start the training. Just to get out with people is always nice. I've gone to training to help autistic kids although I haven't' been sent to a home as of yet.
I think its great that you're teaching classes at the festivals. Too bad you missed the last one. I like hearing about them on your blog.

Hope you have a wonderful birthday!!xxx
