There's gonna be some heavy rain

Yeah, that's right, it's not looking good for WOMAD. When I checked the weather forecast on Friday, it still said 'dry, but cool for the time of year'. When I had a look at it today, it said 'rain, rain, rain' all three days. Not particularly looking forward to that as I have only a rather cheap tent, no airbed and no over-tent. I was going to take just a single duvet and sleep on top of that with the sleeping bag, but I think it's back to the drawing board!

I have managed to find somebody to come with me. I posted an advert on Bristol gumtree saying that I was offering 1 free staff ticket in exchange for lift and help with workshops. A young couple got in touch almost immediately and we will finalise details tomorrow. They will be buying 1 official ticket, whereas the other person in coming in with me. However, they won't camp anywhere near me, so I am pretty much on my own there. A couple of people I know are going, so will meet up with them, but otherwise I am quite happy to wander around on my own, providing it doesn't absolutely piss down. For that eventuality I shall take a very thick book with me for huddling up in the tent :-)

Went to see the dermatologist last Wednesday. Well, nothing new there, eczema, hereditory, although I don't know anybody in my family who has got it (not born before me anyway), and more tinctures, creams and strips for sticking on weepy bits. Made an appointment to see the GP on 28th July to get the results of the ultrasound scan of my inerts. Apart from that, I have just been hangling myself along the ceiling of everyday boring life. Cleaning, dog walking, getting annoyed about a non-performing boiler, getting more annoyed with having to do the same day after day ... and still wanting to buy a smart little camper truck for taking off with the dogs. Fishy's Tour of Britain ... now that would be a start.

  2. I don't know how anyone can live in the UK, with all the rain you get there. Maybe next year WOMAD will be moved to sunny Spain.

  5. Fishy, I'm just catching up on blogs. I can't comment using the comment box thing that you have from work. So I have to read blogs in the evening and with late meetings...well..I get home and am exhausted. Anyway, I hope that your weather for WOMAD is good. I have a 15 passenger van for the dogs. They like going for rides in the big van with all the crates.
