Back in the land of the living ...

... or something like that. Don't know if I have quite arrived here yet. Somehow all the usual familiar surroundings seem strange and distant. The noises are weird, the smells and the sights startling, even the dogs seem different. I must still be on another planet. It was a good festival particularly music-wise. Listened to some extraordinary stuff, and have found my new love (see above), but we better not tell his wife haha. But it's ok really, he doesn't know it either. He moved me to tears with his singing and the stories he intones. Went backstage afterwards and just sat there staring at him. By now he is probably back in Oz and will never know how much I love him .... awwwwwwww. But I have just ordered one of his CD's on Amazon ... a little consolation!

I have spent most of WOMAD on my own, wandering around aimlessly. Had a very good time though, apart from the feeling of not fitting in. This type of festival is just full of middle class families, who eye me up suspiciously. Must have been very worrying for them to leave their kids in my care ... now that makes me laugh. The workshops were incredibly well attended, up to 20 kids at the time. To do this again next year, I will definitely need crochet assistants. Neither of the 2 people who gave me the lift could crochet. Actually, they looked terribly bored during the sessions and I did let them go early. However, they are both wonderful people and have been utterly reliable, so thank you so much John and Yewande :-) Until next year ....

I will be back once I have found my feet again, so watch this space!!!
