If that was the festival, we've had it ....

Dusk over the Stone Circle at Glastonbury

Back from Glastonbury madness ... oh yes, they actually played there too ... Madness that is :-) But I didn't see them. No time! However, I did manage to see Siyaya (for those of you who don't know them http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siyaya) on Thursday night, Neil Young on Friday night, Baaba Maal (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baaba_Maal) on Saturday night and Nick Cave ... my beloved Nick, my all time love and currently ONLY man in my heart ... on Sunday night. Otherwise I just worked, worked, worked. Sounds so easy when you hear 6 hrs of workshops a day. Well, this doesn't take into account the setting up and putting away, the searching for things, the heat and/or rain nor the concentration needed and mental drainage caused. So after 5 days of that I am knackered, kaputt, wiped out, spaced out, done in, no voice left, no energy left, brain frazzled and body limp. But I am happy that I have done something that wouldn't have been possible a year ago due to the HepC, so I am proud as well. I only made enough money to keep my friend and me in food and drink every day and I had to give her £50 out of my private money for her petrol back to Cornwall. But who cares? We have had an interesting time to say the least, met some wonderful people, ate some dreadful food and drank some warm and some cold beer/cider. Me personally, I had some magical moments on my own, playing piano in a field, watching a beautiful sickle moon rise over the stone circle and sitting at the end of a field full of tipis. What more could I want?

WOMAD festival at the end of next month is now also on the agenda, but that will be just me on my own giving some children's workshops ... which in a way I dread. But this stuff all looks good on a CV and is valuable networking.

It is peculiar being back in the city. Could not fall asleep last night with listening to police sirens, car horns, people shouting, and the general droning of the traffic . However, I had no problems at the festie sleeping, despite music pumping all night in the next field. What strange creatures we humans are ....

  2. I am also glad that you enjoyed it. I missed your postings but some Fish is better than no Fish. It sounds like a good break, although it was a lot of work. A break from routine is good. Have a good day.
